Drawing Us Together

2 July, 2022-17 July, 2022

To celebrate NAIDOC Week 2022, we have partnered with author Alton Wally and local schools to create a community story book. Alton Walley is a Whadjuk , Wilman , Kaneang Nyoongar man from the South West of Western Australia.

The story ‘Being a big brother’, written by Alton Walley, is based on this year’s NAIDOC Message ‘Get Up, Stand Up, Show Up’, focusing on the value of leadership and how we can influence those near to us to make a positive change.

Throughout the July School Holidays, we invited you, our much loved Goulburn Square community, to have your say and vote on your favourite of 70 illustrations created by local student artists to be featured in the community storybook. We received overwhelming support with 200 votes over the two week period and thank all the talented student artists who contributed illustrations.
